Emergency Management
Mission Statement
Bee County and the City of Beeville have a multijurisdictional Emergency Operations Plan that is used to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters. The plan is continually updated to insure that procedures are in place to protect our citizens and our community from harm, or offer ways to mitigate that harm.
It is our desire to do everything possible to protect the citizens of Bee County and the City of Beeville, and provide the best possible response within our fiscal and physical capabilities.
We use an “all hazard” approach, meaning that our plan provides for responding to any type of emergency or disaster regardless of whether it is a natural or man-made occurrence. We accomplish this task by planning, training our responders, and exercising our plan to insure that we have the ability to respond to any emergency.
When responding to emergencies, the priorities are “life safety”, “incident stabilization”, and property protection. Saving lives, and removing people from the hazardous situation is our primary goal, and the other priorities follow when that is accomplished.
While we may never be totally prepared, the Office of Emergency Management is dedicated to enhancing our ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters and emergencies.
This is not just a function of government, but requires a commitment from members of the community to step up in times of need and to provide support for responders.
